August 27, 2025Santomo Biomass Indonesia is honored to have participated as an official panelist at the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) APAC Summit 2025, held from July 16th – 17th in Melbourne, Australia. As the premier regional platform for driving SAF innovation and deployment, the summit brought together global stakeholders committed to decarbonizing the aviation sector.
Panel Session: “Addressing the Feedstock Challenge”
Represented by Santomo Biomass President Director [Rumi Hoshino], Santomo Biomass Indonesia contributed to a pivotal panel session titled:
“Addressing the Feedstock Challenge: Availability, Diversity, and Competition.”
The session featured distinguished organizations, including:
- Bioenergy Australia Ltd & CSIRO (representing the Australian Government)
- Santomo Biomass Indonesia, Grainstone, & Australian Sugar Manufactured (Feedstock providers)
- Neste & Axens (SAF Technology leaders)
As part of the panel, Santomo Biomass shared its on-the-ground experience in sourcing and processing diverse biomass feedstocks in Indonesia—particularly palm oil residues, agricultural byproducts, and forestry waste. These materials offer immense untapped potential as sustainable, cost-effective inputs for large-scale SAF production in the Asia-Pacific region.
“We are proud to be part of this essential dialogue. Southeast Asia holds a key role in enabling a more sustainable future for global aviation. At Santomo, we are committed to unlocking the region’s biomass potential through responsible sourcing, technology partnerships, and scalable logistics.”
said Rumi Hoshino, President Director of Santomo Biomass Indonesia.
