Santomo Group’s participation took place under the Japan Pavilion, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). This pavilion served as a showcase of Japanese innovation and a strategic platform for strengthening Japan–Indonesia industrial cooperation.
By joining this pavilion, Santomo Group reinforced its dual role:
- As a provider of renewable energy feedstock through Santomo Biomass Indonesia.
- As a green mobility distribution through Santomo Green Power Management.
About Surabaya Manufacturing 2025
Surabaya Manufacturing 2025 is widely recognized as a premier gateway for businesses to explore Indonesia’s rapidly growing industrial landscape. With the government pushing for net-zero targets by 2060 and emphasizing both renewable energy and electric vehicle adoption, the exhibition became a meeting point for:
- Technology innovators,
- Sustainability advocates,
- Industrial manufacturers, and
- Policymakers and regulators.
By participating in this event, Santomo Group aligned itself with Indonesia’s industrial transformation agenda, particularly in the fields of clean energy and sustainable transportation.
Santomo Group’s Dual Showcase: Biomass & Green Mobility
During the exhibition, Santomo Group highlighted two of its key business entities, each addressing different but complementary aspects of the sustainability ecosystem.
🔹 Santomo Biomass Indonesia – Unlocking Southeast Asia’s Biomass Potential
Santomo Biomass Indonesia, a specialist in biomass procurement and supply chain management, showcased its expertise in delivering sustainable and scalable feedstock solutions. The company focuses on:
- Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) – a byproduct of the palm oil industry with high calorific value.
- Wood Pellets – renewable fuel suitable for power plants and heating industries.
- Agricultural Residues & Forestry Byproducts – alternative biomass sources that help reduce waste while generating energy.
These feedstocks play a critical role in supporting industrial decarbonization as well as the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)—an area where Santomo is increasingly active through its global partnerships.
🔹 Santomo Green Power Management – Driving the Future of Electric Mobility
Alongside biomass, Santomo Group also presented Santomo Green Power Management, its green mobility division focusing on the distribution of electric motorcycles in Indonesia.
Electric motorcycles are seen as a crucial solution for reducing urban air pollution, fuel dependency, and greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia, where motorcycles make up over 85% of total vehicles on the road.
JETRO’s Role and Japan–Indonesia Industrial Cooperation
By joining the Japan Pavilion organized by JETRO, Santomo Group also positioned itself as a bridge between Japanese innovation and the Indonesian industry.
JETRO has long played a key role in facilitating business cooperation between Japan and Indonesia, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, manufacturing technology, and green infrastructure. Santomo’s presence under the pavilion demonstrated its alignment with this mission, as well as its commitment to bilateral industrial growth.
Commitment to a Low-Carbon Future
Santomo Group’s participation in Surabaya Manufacturing 2025 reaffirmed its long-term sustainability strategy that integrates both energy and mobility solutions. The group envisions a comprehensive ecosystem where:
- Renewable feedstock fuels industries and aviation.
- Electric motorcycles provide clean mobility in cities.
- Partnerships across Japan and Indonesia accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Santomo Group’s participation provided valuable opportunities to connect with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and technology partners, while reinforcing its role as a bridge between Japan and Indonesia in the fields of renewable energy, green mobility, and sustainable manufacturing innovation.
