PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia proudly participated in the Biomanufacturing Workshop and Forum 2025, organized by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and supported by the Asia-Pacific Research Center (APRC). The two-day event was held on October 30–31, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia, bringing together leading researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives from across ASEAN and Japan to strengthen cooperation in biomanufacturing and promote sustainable industrial innovation.
As part of the event, PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia was honored to represent the biomass and renewable energy sector through a company presentation delivered by President Director Ms. Rumi Hoshino. In her presentation, Ms. Hoshino introduced the company’s initiatives in producing high-quality biomass fuel from agricultural and forestry byproducts such as palm residue and others agriculture residue. She also highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to establish a sustainable biomass supply chain that contributes to Indonesia’s clean energy transition and supports ASEAN’s regional decarbonization goals.
The event was divided into two main sessions:
- Day 1 (October 30, 2025): 2nd ERIA–APRC Research Exchange and Innovation Workshop on Biomanufacturing — focused on sharing cutting-edge research and technological innovation in biomanufacturing. The workshop served as a platform for ASEAN and Japanese researchers to exchange ideas, build networks, and discuss the role of biotechnology in achieving a carbon-neutral society.
- Day 2 (October 31, 2025): Inaugural ERIA Collaborative Partnership Forum on Biomanufacturing, supported by APRC — aimed at connecting academia, industry, and government stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities and the industrial application of biomanufacturing research.
