Third‑Party Share Allotment in PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia: Key Insights and Business Impact

PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia (Head Office: Jakarta; President: Rumi Hoshino, hereinafter “SBI”), a biomass business company of the Santomo Group, has decided to implement a third-party allotment capital increase to support further business expansion and the development of new business opportunities.

The capital increase will be subscribed by Meiwa Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo, President: Minoru Kuboaki). Through this investment, SBI and Meiwa Corporation will further strengthen their partnership and work together to promote the growth of biomass-related businesses, primarily in Indonesia.

SBI is engaged in the development, production, and sales of biomass fuels, including palm kernel shells (PKS), wood pellets, and rice husk pellets. Amid rising geopolitical risks in recent years, securing locally produced and consumed energy that is not dependent on specific regions has become a global challenge. In response, we are transforming Indonesia’s abundant untapped resources into high-quality fuels and working to establish a stable supply system forJapan, South Korea, and global markets.

As demand for renewable energy continues to increase in support of carbon neutrality and decarbonization initiatives, expectations for sustainable biomass resources are growing worldwide. By combining Meiwa Corporation’s extensive business network and global commercial expertise with SBI’s strong business development and operational capabilities in Indonesia, the parties aim to accelerate business growth and create new opportunities in the biomass sector.

Through this capital increase, the Santomo Group will continue to expand its biomass business and contribute further to the realization of a decarbonized society and the sustainable utilization of natural resources, delivering value from Southeast Asia to the global market.
