Bandung, Indonesia — February 9, 2026 — PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia is pleased to announce its participation in the Australia–Indonesia Sustainable Fuels (AISF) Symposium, taking place from 9–11 February 2026 at the Centre for Research and Community Services (CRCS) Building, Institut Teknologi Bandung, in Bandung, Indonesia.
The symposium is co-organized by UNSW Sydney, University of Adelaide, and Institut Teknologi Bandung, with support from partners including NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub, Jangjo Indonesia, and Ikatan Ilmuwan Indonesia Internasional. The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Australia‑Indonesia Institute.
Representing the company, Rumi Hoshino, President Director of PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia, will serve as one of the panelists in a strategic discussion on “Waste and Biomass to Fuel”, where industry leaders and experts will explore pathways for converting sustainable biomass resources into viable fuel solutions. The session will address supply chain readiness, technological integration, scalability challenges, and the role of biomass in accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy systems.
The AISF Symposium reflects a shared vision between Australia and Indonesia to advance sustainable fuels—including biofuels and e-fuels—through cross-border research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and industry partnership. The program features two flagship components:
- Australia–Indonesia Sustainable Fuels Forum (9 February 2026) — bringing together researchers, policymakers, innovators, and industry stakeholders to discuss advancements, regulatory frameworks, investment feasibility, and system integration, with a strong emphasis on sustainable aviation fuel.
- Australia–Indonesia Sustainable Fuels Summer School (10–11 February 2026) — providing participants with technical learning sessions on emerging fuel technologies, green hydrogen production, techno-economic analysis, lifecycle assessment, and policy frameworks shaping the global energy transition.
