PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia is proud to announce the successful Opening Ceremony of its Wood Pellet Plant, held on September 24, 2025, in Gresik, East Java. The event marked an important milestone in Santomo’s mission to drive renewable energy adoption and expand Indonesia’s role in the global biomass supply chain.
The ceremony was attended by company executives, government representatives, industry leaders, and community stakeholders, highlighting the importance of collaboration in building a sustainable energy future.
The new facility has a production capacity of up to 1,000 metric tons per month, focusing on producing high-quality wood pellets that serve as an eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. These pellets are intended to support both domestic industries and international markets in reducing carbon emissions.
“This wood pellet factory in East Java represents our first step in this region. But this project is more than just a business. We see it as a starting point—a foundation for future developments that will contribute not only to East Java’s decarbonization, but also to Indonesia’s overall energy transition, and eventually to global efforts in building a sustainable future,” said Rumi Hoshino, President Director of PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia.
